Well I know I shoulda known better, and I know that I shoulda known why, and I knew that I shouldna let her, but I knew that she needed to fly, and I know I shouldna trusted you with that loaded gun...don’t ever want to be that close again. And I know I shoulda seen it coming, and I know I shouldn’t smile, but you gotta see the humor in your own situation, once in a while, and I know everything exploded, it wasn’t ’posed to be like that, but sometimes you gotta get loaded to get where you need to be at. And I knew you wouldn’t remember, and I knew you wouldn’t understand, but I knew who not to stand next to, and I knew where not to stand, cuz somebody’s gotta take control and lead this ship to land, but nothing in the world is easy to control and nothing ever goes as planned.

Hurricane 05:09
Bottle’s empty, trees are down, dirty needle, holy shroud. Broken mirror, on my grave, broken headlight, hurricane. Accidental overdosage, too much pain, broken fencepost. Falling water, falling land, broken bridges, hurricane. Broken bones, bloody knees, broken windows and dirty leaves, rotten sill, bloody drain, broken ladder, hurricane.

I’ve done a lot of drugs, but I’ve never been a junkie, and I know that song begins with “something something,” and I’m feeling all of my fifty three years, like the buffalo, used to be here. And I feel bad that you won’t ever know, and I feel bad that you didn’t want to go, what I’m offerin’ you will never know, cuz it seems like it’s time to go. I drunk a bunch of my years away before I got sober, and I’ll probably drink again before this life is over, and my anger, keeps me from dyin’...of a broken heart, honey I ain’t lyin’. No I ain’t lyin’. Baby I ain’t lyin’. And I ain’t dyin’ from a lack of tryin’. So I’ll keep on ridin’, you know I’m right on time! Catch you later...on the other side.

Katy got knocked up by some redneck welder from north Chatahootchie by the Georgia border, his folks run Monkey Village, real live alligators and them tiger llamas, they got orange gumballs and some coconut crumble, ain’t gonna have that pecan log, ain’t never had that pecan log, don’t ever get that pecan log. Uncle Robert bought a big ol’ rifle from some Puerto Rican lives down Indian River with his wife and sixteen kids, they make extra money sellin’ alligator hides and rattlesnake and python. Out on the highway they got cardboard signs that say “Get your hides here! Get your real hides here!” I was drinkin’ moonshine with a plumber’s daughter, gonna take her out to northern Alabama where my mother’s sister lives and keeps a cow and several little chickens right there in her front yard, we’re gonna quit all that drinkin’ and live off the land. Fishin’ for catfish at Bill’s grampa’s catfish farm surrounded by pasture them cat’s get awful hungry, they will take your fishin’ lures and break all your fishin’ line, I was trippin on mushrooms, they were pullin’ them fish out, Andy brought his shotgun, there was feral pigs in them woods, boom! he got one, gonna eat well tonight. Went to a place that had a Dixieland band, they served up fried catfish and Dougie’s momma worked there, she kept them beers a comin’, they had little bitty drumsticks and these wooden picnic tables and you banged on the tables with those little bitty drumsticks to the beat of the Dixieland band, to the beat of the band. We’re gonna quit all that drinkin’ gonna live off the land yeah.

Elephant Sex 03:17
I see the mountains and they’re all under ground. I see the rivers and the ghosts of the drowned. I see the forest but they’ve all been burnt down. I hear their voices and I can’t turn them down. I see the clouds and there ain’t no silver lining. I see the rainbow and there ain’t no pot o’ gold. I see your eyes in the darkness they are shining. I know your secrets and the dearest thing you hold.

Helicopters 02:38
It’s gonna rain champagne and the hills are going to dance. There will be power in the blood when those helicopters come. The sky will swim in lightning fire and the trees will shake and scream. There will be power in the blood when those helicopters come. Rocks will roll uphill and the sun will hide in the sea. There will be power in the blood when those helicopters come. The dead will wake and sing and roll their bones in the grass. There will be power in the blood when those helicopters come.

Stalker 03:58
I know your name. I know your face. I’ve watched you for so long, I know every place you like to go, how you wear your hair, when you went to the show, I was there. Come into my arms, I won’t do you any harm. I know the house on the pretty lane, I’ve looked at you through the window pane. Don’t be afraid, don’t make a sound, nobody’s here, no one’s around. Come into my arms, I won’t do you any harm. I’ll be your light, with my strong arms. I’ll keep you safe, don’t be alarmed, come into my arms, I won’t do you any harm.

Whatever 05:26
You’re really scared by what you see on TV, and then you’re there, you got to tell it to me. I know you mean well, but you can’t change the weather, and you can all go to hell, you think you’re so damned clever. Yeah whatever. Now you can’t tell me you really know my name, every time I see you it’s always the same. And what do you know? Birds of a feather like to go flocking together, yeah whatever. Now I know you can hear my voice, but it shows that it’s only noise. And I don’t care if I never swim again in that muddy river, yeah whatever.

Cryin' Blues 04:35
feel like cryin’ and I don’t know why. I did not get poked in the eye. Nobody around me was being mean. I got a handful of rice and a big bag of beans, but I still feel like cryin’. Yeah I still feel like cryin’. I still feel like cryin’ and I don’t have a damn clue why. Maybe it was something that happened in second grade. Sometimes those things take a lifetime to fade. Maybe it’s just the amount of money I get paid, but it’s my own damn fault how little I’ve made and I still feel like cryin’. Yeah I still feel like cryin’. I still feel like cryin’ and I don’t have a damn clue why. Maybe it’s that my old dog he died, after ten years I can still feel it inside. Maybe it’s that my ol’ lady lied when she told me that she’d love me ‘til the day I died, cuz I still feel like cryin’. Yeah I still feel like cryin’. I still feel like cryin’ and I don’t have a damn clue why. Maybe it’s because my truck broke down, and now I got to hitchhike into town. I really don’t know what’s got me down, maybe it’s just something that’s going around cuz I still feel like cryin’. Yeah I still feel like cryin’. I still feel like cryin’ and I don’t have a damn clue why. My dog ain’t left me and my ol’ lady’s true. There ain’t no reason for me to feel so blue. My bills are paid. I got no debt. I smoke a little dope I ain’t been caught once yet, but I still feel like cryin’, yeah I still feel like cryin’. I still feel like cryin’ and I don’t have a damn clue why.

Part the curtains, keep an eye on the street, the only thing certain is the shoes on your feet. Light the lantern and let it unfold, you know you can’t turn lead into gold. Harriman by four or don’t close the door. You’re just looking for trouble ain’t no good no more. Turn off the light and lock the window, don’t wait ’til night or don’t go. Harriman by four or don’t close the door, that’s the only rule around here. Harriman by four or go to the store and get us all some more beer. Fire up the charcoal, meat on the grill. Wearing your jacket leaning on the windowsill. The cold wind blows and the porch light is on, nobody knows which side to stand on. Harriman by four or don’t close the door, if you get stuck in traffic you will know what for. Finish what you’re doing and pack up the car or you know you won’t get far. Harriman by four or don’t close the door, that’s the only rule around here. Harriman by four or go to the store and get us all some more beer.

Sometimes 03:34
Sometimes the wind blows. Sometimes it’s still. Sometimes the wind will blow you where it will. Sometimes the sun shines. Sometimes it rains. Sometimes you feel good. Sometimes you’re in pain. Win some, you lose some. Some end up in drawn guns. Sometimes the pawn dies, sometimes he runs. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. Sometimes you have trouble finding your shoes. Sometimes you see. Sometimes you don’t. Sometimes a bird drops poop on your coat. Win some, you lose some. Some end up in drawn guns. Sometimes the pawn dies, sometimes he runs. Sometimes you’re up. Sometimes you’re down. Sometimes you smile. Sometimes you frown. Sometimes you love. Sometimes you hate. Sometimes you have to throw up what you ate. Win some, you lose some. Some end up in drawn guns. Sometimes the pawn dies, sometimes he runs, now run now.

I hate your cellphone, I hate your iphone, I hate your smart phone, turn it off and shove it up your ass. I hate your mother, I hate your father, they never taught you how to fucking act! Am I the only one who feels like this? If I’m the only one, then I’m gonna take a piss. Piss right in your eye! Piss right on your face! And then I want you dead...die die die!
